A total of 51 wildfires have broken out so far this month in the region covered by the Prince George Fire Centre, all of them human caused.
The fires have burned over 464 hectares, with the largest, estimated at 170 hectares, at Boucher Lake north of Chetwynd. By the same point last year, there had been only two fires that had burned one hectare.
