Wheelin' Warriors of the North has pedaled its way past the $1 million mark.

That's how much money it has raised for the BC Cancer Foundation in the time since it was launched in 2013.

"I want you to know that without our amazing community of supporters and their generosity, reaching this incredible milestone would not have been possible," founder Karin Piche said Tuesday.

Each year, the team of cyclists participates in British Columbia Ride to Conquer Cancer. Along with training for the more-than 200-kilometre trek, each rider must also raise $2,500.

This ride has been postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19 ramifications but so far, the team has raised $45,492.

"I would like to send out one million heartfelt thank you's to everyone who helped the team reach this tremendous goal," Piche said. "Thank you for your donations and continued support for our cause."
