Thieves rolled away with more than $10,000 in tires and rims. They took them off of a belly-dump trailer on Sintich Frontage Road alongside Highway 97, not far from the turnoff to the airport.
"Prince George RCMP attended the location and observed that suspects had used logs to support the trailer off the ground and removed 12 (11-R24-5) tires and rims from the trailer," said Prince George RCMP spokeswoman Const. Lesley Smith. "The theft occurred sometime overnight (Tuesday to Wednesday) at around 12:30 a.m. as night shift security witnessed a white pick up truck leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Police spoke to a number of residents in the area but had no further information or witnesses to the offense."
