Groop Gallery presents the Works of Annerose Georgeson at tonight's opening night. See Cutblocks and Fields and meet the artist at 7 p.m. with refreshments available. Pride Prince George presents the documentary Beyond Gay: The Politics of Pride today at CNC. The film is a comprehensive look at the political dynamics of Gay Pride celebrations. This documentary examines the current state of Pride around the world and contrasts that to the increasing tolerance and participation by 'mainstream' society that characterizes the celebrations in Canada. The film will be shown Friday at the College of New Caledonia Lecture Theatre at 1 p.m. for a free showing, $15 for the 6 and 9 p.m. showing. Tickets are available at Topaz Bead Gallery and Shagg or at the door.

Prince George Conservatory presents the Chamber Salon called Shall We Dance? Saturday at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church, 3555 Fifth Avenue. Tickets are $20 each or $40 for groups of any size. Tickets are available at the door.

Valdy is in concert at Art Space Saturday at 8 p.m. Valdy has sold almost half a million copies of his 13 albums, has two Juno Awards, including Folk Singer of the Year and Folk Entertainer of the Year, a total of seven Juno nominations and four gold albums to his credit. One of Canada's most influential songwriters, Valdy's composition A Good Song was recorded under the title Just a Man by the venerable Quincy Jones. Hummus Brothers Tapas Bar presents NAVAZ, a local group including Neda Jalali on vocals, Eric Tompkins on guitar and Shawn Smith on saxophone and percussion on Saturday, 1230 Fourth Avenue at 8 p.m.

International Women's Day celebrations take place Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Twisted Cork with a Masquerade dance at 101-1157 Fifth Avenue. Tickets are at Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue for $15 each.

Winterlicious is an event that celebrates and explores downtown Prince George restaurants until March 13. Restaurants invite patrons to enjoy specially-priced meals including lunch for $12 to $20 and dinner for $25 to 45.
