Langley RCMP recently discovered a marijuana grow operation under a chicken coop.
On Nov. 3 suspicious RCMP located a hydro by-pass on a 240 Street property, but couldn't locate a grow op until they followed the hydo line to a small chicken coop on the property.
Inside officers found a hatch cover that accessed an underground three-room bunker with an electric lift installed to lower people and equipment into the 10-foot-deep bunker.
RCMP used an excavator to open the side of the bunker to provide safe ventilation and seized 1,900 marijuana plants.
No arrests were made at the scene. Hydro service to the property was cut off and a 'Do Not Occupy' placard was placed on the residence. The investigation is ongoing.
