Another COVID-19 exposure event has occurred in Prince George.
Westwood Church has announced on its website there was a COVID-19 exposure event on the dates of Oct. 14 to 29.
"Our plans to launch an "in-person" worship were scheduled for this coming Sunday, November 8 and we were looking forward to that," Pastor Rob Dyck says in the announcement.
"However, we have had a COVID-19 exposure event at Westwood and need to follow protocols for the sake of everyone."
He adds the Mennonite Brethren church will continue to delay in-person worship gatherings for the time being.
"This is a voluntary delay for the interest of our church and broader community. We will update our church family as soon as possible on our plans moving forward."
Northern Health has not formally listed Westwood Church's alert, but under public exposures, the authority asks residents that have developed symptoms to self-isolate, and to either contact the COVID-19 Online Clinic and Information Line for Northern BC residents (1-844-645-7811) or your primary care provider.
Those that positively test for the virus will be contacted by Northern Health directly with further instructions.
As of this publication, there are 425 COVID-19 cases in Northern Health, including 21 active, three deaths, no one in hospital and 401 recoveries.
