West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd., which has extensive operations in northern B.C., posted a profit of $19 million in the first three months of the year, the first positive results after six consecutive quarters of losses.
The $19 million profit climbs to $34 million if discontinued operations - it shuttered its Eurocan linerboard and kraft paper mill - are not included.
