Prince George RCMP were kept hopping over the Mother's Day weekend with 10 Break and Enter reports received from a number of residences .
A number of homes in the VLA, Foothills and Westwood areas fell victim to the break-ins which occurred in late afternoon and evenings, said Cst. Lesley Smith, media communications officer.
Home owners discovered either their front doors kicked in, or a basement or second floor window pried or forced open. The thieves took money, jewellery, Lap Tops, TVs, DVDs and other electronics such as X-Box, PS3, Nintendo Wii and computer games.
Police are still investigating a number of the cases and believe one or two suspects are likely responsible for the majority of these crimes.
Items stolen from property crimes such as break-ins are commonly used in the drug trade, either as a form of payment for drugs or to pay off a debt owed to a drug dealer or gang member.
The Prince George Crime Reduction Unit and members from the general duty watches have a number of leads which are being investigated. The suspects may have been seen walking in theses areas carrying large backpacks or a hockey bag.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed someone looking suspicious in these areas of town to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or call CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS.
