In one night the workers moved the Salmon River Bridge 20 metres downstream.
A video, posted by the Ministry of Transportation shows work by Surespan Construction Ltd. from Saturday night at 10 p.m. through to Sunday morning at 6 a.m.
The $24 million project replaces the 61-year-old bridge. The new bridge will be wider and have a greater capacity to handle oversize loads as well as a sidewalk and pedestrian passes at both ends. There will also be off-highway parking for recreational users of the Salmon River. Work is scheduled for completion in fall 2017.
