It's time to bring out the bike, or be on the lookout for cyclers when driving because May 31 to June 6 is Prince George's second annual Bike to Work Week.
Bike to Work Week doesn't require participants to collect pledges or pay an entry fee, they just have to join a team at their workplace, hop on their bikes and go. There were 350 registered participants last year, and this year's goal is 500.
"We have a lot of events running during and beyond Bike to Work Week that showcase all the city has to offer in terms of cycling," said organizer, Jillian Merrick, "And to provide support to cyclists to help make their morning commutes easy and fun."
Pit stops, called Celebration Stations, will offer food, drinks, route maps, expert advice, and draws for prizes.
Cyclists showing their participant stickers will also receive free transit during the week, to make commuting to and from distant areas a little easier
