Police have drugs, weapons and four suspects in custody after a successful raid on a Norwood Street residence.

On the evening of Sept. 1, Prince George RCMP executed a controlled drugs and substances act search warrant on a residence on Norwood Street.

Just before 8 p.m., members of the Downtown Enforcement Unit with assistance from the detachment's drug section and police service dog section, executed a controlled drugs and substances act search warrant on a residence in the 2200 block of Norwood Street in Prince George.

Three males aged 40, 34, and 34, as well as one female aged 41, were arrested without incident inside the residence. All are believed to residents of Prince George.

A significant amount of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, morphine and pills believed to be MDMA (known as Ecstasy), were seized along with various drug trafficking paraphernalia including scales and packaging material.

In addition, a sawed off 12 gauge shotgun with a pistol grip was located in a hidden compartment in the residence.

A laptop computer that was stolen earlier in the day at a break and enter on the 1600 block of Edmonton Street, was also located in the residence.

One person arrested was transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC by the BC Ambulance Service. The 40-year-old male suffered a cut in an effort to evade police upon their entry into the residence.

Charges to possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, careless use of a firearm and possession of property obtained by crime, will be recommended to Federal Crown Counsel.

Currently, all four persons remain in custody.
