A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Darlene Joseph after she failed to appear in court on Wednesday for a hearing in relation to a May drug bust.

Joseph, 44, was arrested May 15 when police executed a search warrant on a motel room in the 1500 block of Victoria Street and seized a quantity of cocaine, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Steven Lenard Abela, 56, was also arrested and two weeks later was sentenced to 351 days in jail for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Abela has an extensive criminal record and was denied release after his arrest while Joseph was released on an undertaking.

Joseph, who faces the same charge, was supposed to appear in court to elect council.

- Nathaniel Lazarus Basil was sentenced Thursday to two years plus a day for four break and enter related conviction - three committed in Prince George and one in Quesnel.
