A man who did jail time for wielding a knife while robbing a Prince George business of some ice cream is at large.

Prince George RCMP issued a wanted bulletin Wednesday for Shane Daniel Coulas after he failed to attend a court hearing for a first appearance on a count of breaching probation.

Coulas is described as 25 years old, 185 cm (6’1”) tall and weighing 100 kg (221 lbs) with black hair and brown eyes.

In April, Coulas was sentenced to 66 days in jail on a count of assault with a weapon from an incident the month before in which he allegedly threatened staff at an 1800-block 20th Avenue business with a knife and left with a small amount of ice cream. Police arrested him a short time later without incident.

Coulas was also sentenced to one year probation but the count for which the warrant was issued stems from a different matter.

In August 2021, he was sentenced to 29 days in jail and one year probation on weapons counts and the subsequent charge of breaching that probation stems from an alleged incident this past August.

Coulas is considered violent and should not be approached, RCMP warn. Instead, if you see him, you're urged to call police immediately.

Anyone with information on who Coulas may be is asked to contact the detachment at 561-3300.
