RCMP are requesting the public's help to locate a suspect who fled the scene of a marijuana grow operation in the Nass Valley on Wednesday.

Lisims/Nass Valley RCMP believe Darrell Frederick Grace, 40, may have fled the Nass Valley toward Prince George. Nass Valley RCMP conducted a search of a suspicious property on Nisga'a Highway in Nass Camp on Wednesday.

Police searched two cabins and a number of outbuildings on the site and seized marijuana plants, illegally-obtained prescription drugs and stolen identification. Police found evidence of a recently-dismantled marijuana grow operation on the site.

The marijuana plants were located in a nearby property on Cranberry Lane in Nass Camp. A man and woman were taken into custody at the scene and questioned, but Grace fled the scene and eluded police.

Nass Valley RCMP Sgt. Donovan Tait said Grace is an experienced outdoorsman. However, he is not considered a danger to the public.

He is not considered to be a violent offender and police do not believe he is armed, Donovan said.

Grace has outstanding warrants from Prince George, Alberta and Manitoba.

At the time he escaped, Grace was wearing a T-shirt, light jacket, jeans and boots. A photo of Grace was not available as of press time.
