High school student art has been invited onto the walls of the region's top gallery.
The Two Rivers Art Gallery will unveil an exhibition this week, created and curated entirely by the artistic participants of their Young Associates program.
The show is entitled Walk A Mile and came together under the guidance of the gallery's public programmer Anna-Maria Lawrie. She said the youth "met weekly at Two Rivers Gallery since the beginning of their school year," and the result about to be revealed "is an exhibition that depicts the stories of old shoes and the people who wore them."
Submissions were made by Grade 11 and 12 students from six of secondary schools in School District 57. More than 120 students will have their work on display as part of Walk A Mile.
The opening reception - free to the public - will occur in the Rustad Galleria on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The art will be on display throughout the month of May. Artists will be on hand during the opening ceremonies.
