The B.C. SPCA is asking residents to vote for their low-cost spay/neuter program in the Pepsi Refresh Project so they can win a $100,000 grant in order to end pet overpopulation in the province.
The SPCA is asking pet lovers to cast votes quickly and often until Oct. 31. The project with the most votes wins the grant.

"Every year we see thousands of animals in our shelter who have been surrendered or abandoned because there are no homes for them," said Lorie Chortyk, general manager of community relations for the B.C. SPCA, in a recent press release. "The tragedy of pet overpopulation is completely preventable and winning this Pepsi Refresh grant would be a huge step forward in helping to end this suffering."
