Volcanologist Catherine Hickson is at Wells Gray Park this weekend to lead a workshop on the volcanic history of the Clearwater Valley.
The event begins Friday at 7 p.m. with an introductory talk on volcanic process. On Saturday at 9 a.m., Hickson will lead a day-long driving and walking tour of Green Mountain, Dawson, Helmcken Falls and the Dragon's Tongue at Clearwater Lake. On Sunday, the workshop travels to the Flatiron and various roadside stops south to Spahats.
On all three days, meet at the Upper Clearwater Community Hall, 25 km north of Clearwater on the Wells Gray Park Road. Register early by phoning Shelly Sim at 250-674-3296.
