Ramandeep 'Chico' Dhanjal is the equipment manager of the Prince George Cougars since 2008.

He needs no introduction!

Ramandeep 'Chico' Dhanjal is a staple in Prince George as the Cougars' equipment manager since 2008, one of the current longest-serving members of the northern franchise.

His story was told to the nation this past weekend by Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi about his love for the game, his day-to-day tasks and the experiences of working more than 800 games in the WHL.

"This is what love doing. This is my life, like, I love it to death," the Saskatoon, Sask. product explained.

"Will it come to an end one year? Probably. I am getting up there in age, but it's not going to be for a while. I've got too much passion for the game."

Narrated in Punjabi and English by broadcast host Amrit Gill, Dhanjal spoke virtually from his hotel room in Kamloops as the Cougars continue its B.C. Division hub season.

Before moving to Prince George, he won the national junior 'A' hockey championship in 2008, the final stint of his three-year career with the Humboldt Broncos.

He's also been called to represent Canada in several international events, including the women's under-18 and -22 events and the men's world under-17 challenge.

"Our job is to make sure the player only has to worry about what they do on the ice," Dhanjal explained.

"We make sure that everything from skates to sticks to equipment needs are all met, making sure that the coaches have everything that they need to make sure that they can coach the players; making sure that everything around the environment of the hockey team and the arena is just focused on them playing the game."
