More than 1,000 visitors are expected to attend the popular Victoria Street Market bazaar and tea Oct. 23 at St. Michael's and All Angels' Anglican Church.
"You'll find all kinds of cool stuff there, like handmade wooden toys, baking table, hand sewn items like oven mitts and aprons, knitted article, pet snacks, antique furniture and more," said Helen Domshy, member.
"There are beautiful quilts made by our quilters, Bridgehead coffee and homemade cards.
"This year we have a new area called Fifth Avenue Boutique that offers unique gifts for those people who have everything, and our Thrift Shop and a hot-dog booth will be operating.
A highlight of the market is the raffle of a hand-made queen-size quilt by the 25 quilting members who create about 25 quilts a year, raising about $2,100 for disbursement among local charity organizations with the bulk going to St. Michael's located at Fifth Avenue and Victoria Street.
"Raffle tickets are $2 each, and there are 10 tickets to a book which many people like to purchase."
Domshy said.
Don't forget the legendary tea for $5 which comes with lovely home baking from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The bazaar is on from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and entry is free.
All funds raised go to St. Michael's Church which offers worship programs and outreach services for the less fortunate.
"It's probably not well known, but we provide about 27 lunches every day to people who come in off the street," said Domshy.
