Police are now releasing the names of the two people killed in the head-on highway collision near Vanderhoof on Sunday.
According to Mounties, the deceased individuals are Judith Ann Eckland, 60, of Burns Lake and Kenneth Barry Samuelson, 47, of Terrace.
They were the drivers, and only occupants, of the two vehicles involved.
The investigation into what caused the crash is still underway.
"There is no evidence to suggest that alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision that claimed these two lives," said Prince George Regional Traffic Services spokeswoman Const. Madonna Saunderson.
The collision took place on Highway 16 near the intersection of Braaten Road, which is 15 kilometres east of Vanderhoof.
