A vehicle in B.C. with a Georgia license plate left a note in their window for passersby on Wednesday (July 29), apparently to preempt any negative reaction to seeing the American vehicle.
“Canadian Citizen. Completed 14-day quarantine," the note read on the vehicle while roaming through Penticton, adding what they called a "BC Ministry of Health confirmation number."
A communications representative from the ministry stated in response that: “The note displayed in the photo is not part of a Ministry of Health program and no individual is expected to display personal information about their health status publicly.”
They added that the Ministry of Emergency Management B.C. is working with “Federal partners to implement a system for people transiting through Canada to their homes in the U.S.”
The car and its sign, parked for a few hours on Main Street Wednesday afternoon, caught the attention of many stopping to read the note.
