Mackenzie was the scene Tuesday of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Cicada Road and Highway 39 within the city limits. The crash was reported at approximately 3 p.m. involving a SUV and a commercial transport truck.
The head-on collision resulted in one person in the SUV being pronounced dead and the driver of the transport truck being treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Weather and road conditions are not believed to be contributing factors at this time.
