A boil water advisory is still in effect for some Vanderhoof residents serviced by Northside Water.
A sample tested positive for trace amounts of E. coli bacteria over the long weekend and a statement from Northside Water indicated test results sent to Vancouver should be available this afternoon. A second set of samples sent out Tuesday by Northern Health should have results available Thursday.
Approximately 200 customers, representing about 500 people, get their water from Northside.
"Once Northern Health has confirmed that the water is safe for consuming we will inform the public and the boil water advisory will be lifted," said the statement.
In the interim, those customers are asked to avoid ingesting any tap water that hasn't been boiled as well as to sponge bathe children to avoid any water being swallowed.
