The body of a female has been recovered by Vanderhoof RCMP, Ft. St. James RCMP and Conservation Service, police announced Sunday morning.
One 20-year-old male is in custody pending investigation and identification of the deceased.
"We are in consultation with other investigative teams, and we are considering other cases like (Cynthia) Maas in this investigation," said Cpl Dan Moskaluk. Maas, 35, is a homicide victim, who's body was found in L.C. Gunn park on October 8.
Moskaluk said there is not enough evidence at this time to determine if this case is related to the Highway of Tears. RCMP North District Prince George Crime is on site and actively investigating this incident.
