The work of Vanderhoof artist Annerose Georgeson's be featured at Two Rivers Gallery.
Opening night for Gathering: A Retrospective in a Changing Landscape is on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Canfor Gallery, where Georgeson will give a talk.
Georgeson has made the forest around her home a primary focus of her practice for the last two decades.
The exhibition looks at Georgeson’s work over this time, tracing her journey through photography and drawing, mixed media and collage-based work, to painting in a variety of mediums.
Not only does this body of work define the trajectory of her own development, but serves as a remarkable document of changes to the forest and the land brought by the mountain pine beetle, logging operations, and forest fire.
"Reflecting these events over a sustained period of time, Georgeson captures the resilience and power of nature to emerge as a singular artistic voice in North Central B.C.," the gallery said.
