There were no goals on the scoresheets this weekend for the Prince George Cougars, suffering their second shut out in as many nights.

Despite outshooting the Vancouver Giants 38-23 and getting seven power-play opportunities, the Cats could not find a way to get by David Tendeck Saturday night (Nov. 16).

The 4-0 shut out loss is also the seventh setback in a row for Prince George, having not won a game since they defeated the Giants in overtime on Sunday, Oct. 27, also with Tyler Brennan in net.

The 16-year-old rookie made 19 saves yesterday in his sixth start of the 2019-20 season, giving Taylor Gauthier a rest from Friday’s busy tilt in Kamloops.

Prince George was perfect on the penalty-kill, going two-for-two (2/2) in Langley.

They got 13 shots in the first and second periods, and followed with 12 in the third; they never let the Giants get to double-digits in a frame.

Milos Roman scored two of Vancouver’s goals, including the game-opener at 9:20 of the first and was ultimately the game-winner.

His second came with just two seconds left in the middle stanza.

Tristen Neilsen recorded a three-point night with a goal and two assists, earning him the game’s first star.

Cole Shepard scored the remaining goal on the board for the Giants.

The loss drops Prince George’s record to 4-15-0-2 and only one point in the last seven contests.

The Cougars return home this Tuesday (Nov. 19) for a meeting with one of the Western Hockey League’s best teams, the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Puck-drop goes for 7 p.m. from the CN Centre and it’s the start of another three-game homestand with Kamloops coming to the city Friday (Nov. 22) and Saturday (Nov. 23).
