Flights between Prince George and Vancouver were cancelled Tuesday morning, following a snow storm in Vancouver.

Flights into and out of the Prince George Airport were delayed and cancelled on Wednesday, in the wake of a snowstorm which shut down the Vancouver International Airport for much of Tuesday.

As of 10:30 a.m., the Prince George Airport was reporting WestJet had cancelled one flight each way between Prince George and Vancouver, but was expecting to resume service later in the day. Air Canada flights between Prince George and Vancouver were flying, but running late Wednesday morning.

Central Mountain Air flights arriving in Prince George from Edmonton, Kelowna and Fort Nelson were all expected to arrive late on Wednesday, as of Wednesday morning.

Pacific Coastal Airlines' service between Victoria and Prince George was running ontime, as of Wednesday morning.

Vancouver International Airport temporarily suspended all incoming and outgoing flights for much of Tuesday, after a snowstorm dumped 25 cm of snow on metro Vancouver overnight.

That has caused a ripple effect, impacting air travel all across Western Canada. Combined with extreme cold in Alberta and a snowstorm headed for Toronto's Pearson International Airport, holiday travellers should expect significant delays across Canada.
