A vehicle incident has forced closure of Highway 97 north of Williams Lake.
Specifically, a 4.7-kilometre stretch between Picard Road and Hill Road, roughly 40 kilometres north of Wildwood, has been closed in both directions with no detour since this afternoon and it's not expected to reopen until 11 p.m. according a DriveBC alert.
The incident itself is 300 metres south of Hill Road.
Quesnel RCMP confirmed the closure but was unable to provide details on the incident.
- West Fraser Road is closed in both directions due to a washout at Narcosli Creek.
There is a detour via Garner Road and Webster Lake Road, according to DriveBC.
The closure is long-term with no estimated time frame for re-establishing service.
