The running total of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Northern Health region stands at 30, according to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, an increase of two from the day before.
However, it said 22 are listed as recovered, and increase of one since Tuesday, leaving eight active cases in the region, also up by one.
Four of those patients are in hospital and one in critical care.
Province-wide, a total of 1,561 people have tested positive for the disease, up 44, while 955 are considered to be fully recovered, up eight.
As of Wednesday, 75 people have died, up three. They include the first death in the Interior Health region was reported Wednesday, a man in his 60s who provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said was in recovery at home.
No deaths from the virus have been recorded in Northern Health.
There were 131 people in hospital, down three, including 59 in intensive care or critical care units, up one.
Not everyone who might have COVID-19 is tested, and actual cases are likely higher than the confirmed cases.
