REAPS' 20th Annual Toy Drive

Joseph, The Dreamer

Family Caregiver Series

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 202-575 Quebec St., during the Family Caregiver Series the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is offering a two-part five-topic series for family

members who are caring for a person with dementia. Learn about dementia, practical coping strategies, and early planning. The Family Caregiver Series covers understanding dementia, understanding communication, understanding behaviour, planning for the future, self-care for caregivers. Pre-registration is required. Dementia Dialogues: Celebrating the Holidays

Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at 202-575 Quebec St., the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is hosting opportunities for family caregivers to connect with one another and increase their knowledge about dementia and caregiving skills. The informal session is facilitated to allow caregivers to share their experiences and to take home practical information. Celebrating the Holidays looks at ways to modify traditions to make the holidays more manageable and suggests ideas to include the person with dementia in preparing for and participating in celebrations. Toonie Auction

Saturday, Nov. 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 1145 Second Ave., Carrier Sekani Family Services will hold a toonie auction featuring many items, including gift baskets donated by local businesses. Lunch will be available for $10 including beef on a bun, caesar salad, a drink and dessert bars. All proceeds go to the family support services to purchase toys and food to make Christmas a special time for CSFS families. For more information call 250-562-3591.

PG Royal Purple Snowflake Bazaar

Saturday, Nov. 26 form 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elder Citizens Rec Centre, 1692 Tenth Ave., the bazaar will feature special Christmas gifts, provide a lunch and offers many selections from a variety of vendors. Alban Classical Presents A Saturday Evening Concert

Alban Classical presents a Saturday Evening of Classical music featuring works by Scarlatti, Handel, Schubert, Copland and others performed by Greg Prosser on trumpet, Simon Cole on clarinet, Erica Skowron singing soprano and playing English horn and Angela Alba on piano.
