Glitz and Glam Gala
Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Coast Inn of the North, 770 Brunswick St., the Prince George Community Foundation is once again hosting the 2016 Citizens of the Year Glitz and Glam, semi formal gala event to honour those who have gone above and beyond in community volunteerism and philanthropy. This year's honourees are Cindy Smith, Nowell Senior, Trelle Morrow and the group of three ladies as one honouree: Ann Halikowski, Lorraine Hilland and Karen Underhill. First Nations Art Gala
Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Civic Centre the Carrier Sekani Family Services is hosting the annual Art and Music Gala in partnership with the Two Rivers Art Gallery, featuring live art and musical entertainment, dinner, a live and silent auction of art from various Indigenous artists. The purpose of the event is to revitalize and celebrate traditional art and music and to raise funds which will go towards the Carrier Sekani Family Services William Teegee Art & Music Bursary. The bursary will be utilized to provide grants to students to attend post-secondary music & art institutions, and for Elders and knowledge holders to teach their traditional art and music skills to our younger generations. Way Late Play Date
Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. the first ever 19+ Way Late Play Date takes place at Exploration Place, 333 Becott Pl. Sound of the North Oktoberfest and Country Music
Wednesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Elder Citizens' Rec Centre, 1692 Tenth Ave., the band Sound of the North will feature yodelling and harmony singing - a mix of oom-pah, traditional German songs and good old country. Paint the Town Red Masquerade Ball
Friday, Oct. 21 starting at 6, dinner at 7 and dance is at 8:30 p.m., join Positive Living North for an evening of fine dining, dancing and a silent auction at the Coast Inn of the North. Studio Fair
Nov. 4, 5, and 6 at the Civic Centre, 808 Canada Games Way, the Prince George & District Community Arts Council will host its annual Studio Fair, which is a juried art fair that provides an opportunity for the community to see original and quality works of art in the marketplace. Hours are Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Day pass for adults, seniors and students is $5, children under 12 are free.
