Some 25 non-profit agencies will get a share of $128,000 from the United Way of Northern B.C.
The disbursements come through the first round of allocations from the agency's COVID-19 relief fund and will go towards helping the region's most vulnerable during the pandemic.
Beneficiaries include three Prince George groups: Carney Hill Neighbourhood Centre Society, Prince George Brain Injured Group and Prince George Native Friendship Centre.
"We are so honoured and grateful to be able to serve the agencies and communities of
Northern BC through the amazing generosity of so many donors. The response to the UWNBC
COVID-19 Relief Fund has been remarkable," UWNBC executive director Trista Spencer said.
UWNBC is continuing its fundraising, noting that the total amount of requests for help the agency has received is eight times greater than available funding.
