The United Way of Northern British Columbia (UWNBC) kicked off their 2011 campaign with the third Pull Together for United Way Fire Truck Pull Saturday. Pulling a 17,000 kilogram fire engine 50 feet is not an easy task! Just ask the corporate teams of 10 who geared up for this challenge in support of a worthy cause.
Congratulations to all the winning teams, in each of the three categories.
- Integris Credit Union for having the fastest combined time of 23.92 seconds
- Scotiabank for the Most Spirited Team
- Intersect Youth Services/BC Assessment for Most Money Raised.
This event would not be possible without the continued support of the City of Prince George Fire Rescue Service who competed, provided the fire truck and crowd-pleasing entertainment. This community fundraiser pulled in $1,400 toward United Way's 2011 Campaign thanks to the pledges made by all competing teams.
October is the official United Way month in Prince George. Workplaces throughout the community will be campaigning now through December hosting special events and corporate team-building activities. Thank you to all the community volunteers and donors for your ongoing support.
