The city's unemployment rate stood at 7.3 per cent last month, according to Statistics Canada labour force survey numbers released Friday, a noticeable drop from 8.5 per cent in September as the number of people holding down jobs grew by 600 to 48,400.
A 600-person increase in the number not actively seeking jobs also played into the declined while those unemployed but seeking work fell by 700 to 3,800.
