The city's unemployment rate stood at 7.3 per cent last month, according to a Statistics Canada labour force survey released Friday, a 0.8-percentage point increase from the month before.
The number of people holding down jobs held steady at 47,300 but there were 3,700 people looking for work, up 400 from May.
