A bear came calling at a home on Sadler Drive on Tuesday evening.

It was about 8:45 p.m. when the black bear knocked on the patio door, and seeing that it was a bear, nobody felt confident in refusing the request.

According to police spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass, the bruin "somehow forced open a patio door and was in the house, and at one point the homeowner shut the door on the bear trapping it in an upstairs

bathroom."

It went from the bathroom to a bedroom and jumped out a second storey window of that room."

There were five people home at the time.

They were urged out of the house by police and conservation officers who attended.

The bear "did relatively little damage," said Douglass and no one was injured in the incident.

The bear was not questioned by authorities. It disappeared into the bushes of the neighbourhood and was not expected to be invited back in by the disgruntled hosts.
