The star of the UNBC’s Women’s Basketball team is now the shining star of CanadaWest.
Graduating Forward Vasiliki Louka has been named the conference’s First Star of the Week after posting her 16th and 17th double-doubles of the season this past weekend (Feb. 1 - 2) on home court against the Lethbridge Pronghorns.
Saturday’s was also the 47th of her UNBC career, with puts her in the top three in the history of CanadaWest women’s basketball.
The Athens, Greece import scored a combined 36 points Friday and Saturday, while also grabbing 31 rebounds, adding to her career total of 253.
That number officially ranks Louka as the greatest rebounder in the country, averaging 12.7 per game.
She also finishes the year with the eighth-most points in the conference, bucketing 346 points in 20 games.
Louka was also named a CanadaWest second star earlier this season for the week of Nov. 6, 2018.
