As Black History Month begins, UNBC athletics is proud to unveil a t-shirt celebrating the incredible history and contributions of black student athletes past and present. These t-shirts are being sold for $20 at the Athletics office at UNBC, with all profits going to UNBC's Afro-Caribbean Student Association. Anyone wearing the t-shirt to the Black Heritage games on Friday, Feb. 9 against Saskatchewan will receive free admission for both games. "It's a very special honour to wear this shirt," Tyrell Laing, the all-time leading scorer for UNBC Timberwolves men's basketball, said.

"There are black athletes at UNBC that have accomplished special things and being able to have the shirt to honour Black History Month and to respect a lot of the sacrifices that have taken place throughout history, along with Black Heritage Night (September 9) is very exciting for the community here."
