The University of Northern B.C. has reached a tentative two-year agreement with the UNBC Faculty Association under the government's 2010 mandate, Finance Minister Colin Hansen said Thursday.

"I'm pleased that a tentative agreement with the UNBC Faculty Association has been reached under the province's negotiating framework," said Hansen. "This is another example of how negotiators are working collaboratively during these challenging economic times."

The tentative agreement covers about 459 employees, including faculty members, professional librarians, and senior laboratory instructors.

Members will vote on the agreement before the end of the year.
