UNBC Timberwolves basketball will look to head into the Christmas break on a positive note in a back-to-back series in Saskatchewan to take on the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
Both the men and women are coming off two consecutive losses against the University of the Fraser Valley, which also saw the women's undefeated record snapped.
The men currently sit at 5-3 on the season with a 2-2 record on the road, which they will look to improve tonight (Nov. 29) and tomorrow (Nov. 30).
They currently have a 43.1 field goal percentage, averaging 84.6 points a game with 38.4 rebounds and 15.5 assists per game.
The Huskies sit at 6-4 on the season with a perfect home record at 4-0 and also hold a two-game winning streak after back-to-back wins against Brandon. Saskatchewan shoots 42.2 per cent from the field with 43.2 rebounds and 12.3 assists per game.
The Timberwolves sit seventh in Canada West men's standings while Saskatchewan sits fifth.
Meanwhile, the women sit at 6-2 for the year, also holding a 2-2 record on the road.
They're shooting 46.4 per cent on the floor with 44.3 rebounds and 19 assists per game while averaging 82.9 points per match.
Saskatchewan holds an 8-2 record. They're shooting 42.9 per cent for field goals, averaging 44.7 rebounds and 16.3 assists per game.
UNBC owns the fourth spot in Canada West women's basketball standings while the Huskies sit atop the standings.
The Timberwolves women have multiple players in the top five for individual offence leaders.
Guard Maria Mongomo leads Canada West in points per game, averaging 22.3 and sits fifth in scoring on the season with 178 points while Vasiliki Louka is third with 20.1 points per contest.
Louka also leads Canada West in rebounds per game, averaging 13.6 a night.
