Roxanne Sinclair of the UHNBC Prince George Traditional Drummers Group is at the Valentine Bazaar this weekend to fundraise as the group travels out of town to share their good medicine and healing with others in BC.

The Valentine Bazaar is on right now at the Roll-A-Dome and continues until 4 p.m. today and then guests get another day of shopping for popular local vendors’ items on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Right before Valentine’s Day is the ideal time to go shopping for those one-of-a-kind gifts and centre stage, surrounded by so many booths of jewelry, soaps, baked goods, clothing, wood-turned items and more, sits the UHNBC Prince George Traditional Drummers booth with Roxanne Sinclair selling handmade beaded gift items uniquely created by hand.

There’s even some Bannock people can purchase and it’s all in an effort to fundraise as the traditional drumming group has been invited to other communities in BC to share their talents.

“We’ve been drumming outside the hospital since the pandemic hit,” Sinclair said. “And now we’re being asked to go out of town to give our good medicine and healing to other people. So we’re actually leaving on Feb. 23 to go to an event in Greenville, BC.”

The funds raised will help offset the cost of the trip.
