The Prince George ATV Club and the Tabor Mountain Recreation Society are among the associations and clubs from around the province that are getting an injection of cash to spruce up trails.
The funding for trail construction or maintenance comes from the ORV Trail Fund, which was established in 2017 and is funded from a portion of registration fees collected under the Off-Road Vehicle Act by ICBC.
The Prince George ATV Club will receive $15,000 and the Prince George Tabor Mountain Recreation Society will receive $20,000.
The ATV Club will use the funds to build a bridge over George Creek and for ORV trail remediation in Prince George and Wells.
The Tabour Mountain Recreation Society will put the funds toward the Tabor Mountain Trail Rehabilitation Program.
In total, the province is splitting $100,000 among 11 clubs for both trail maintenance and the promotion of safe and responsible use of trails.
Representatives from the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, the British Columbia Snowmobile Federation, British Columbia Off-road Motorcycle Association and ATVBC evaluated 28 applications before making the final decisions.
The next intake of applications will begin in early 2019.
