Two people hospitalized after early morning VLA shooting

Prince George RCMP are seeking video surveillance footage of the area

Two people are in the hospital following an early-morning targeted shooting in the VLA area of Prince George.

At about 3 a.m. this morning (July 27), RCMP received multiple reports of a distrurbance near 2200-block Victoria St.

Frontline officers immediately attended the area and a man and woman were found with, what officers believed to be, gunshot wounds.

Paramedics took both victims to hospital for treatment and both are expected to recover.

The Prince George RCMP Serious Crime Unit are leading the investigation. 

Members of the Police Dog Service and Forensic Identification Service also attended the area to assist. 

Police say this incident is believed to be targeted and related to the drug trade. 

Investigators are requesting assistance from the public and anyone that has external video cameras in the area is asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.

Mounties say the investigation is in its early stages and more information may be released as it becomes available.
