Two new COVID cases reported in the north

Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Northern Health region on Tuesday, according to data released by the B.C. Ministry of Health.

The number of active cases in the region dropped by five from Monday, down to 29. The number of people hospitalized remained at two, with both in critical care, according to B.C. Centre for Disease Control data released on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, 78.1 per cent of British Columbians aged 12 and up have had at least one vaccine dose, and 37 per cent are fully vaccinated.

A total of 5.34 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in B.C., including 243,961 in the Northern Health region.
