The University of Northern B.C. is helping organize two free lectures Wednesday.

The first, at 6 p.m., features Patrick Reid Stewart discussing why indigenous place-based knowledge is central to indigenous architecture and design.

The second, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., looks at the impact that forests play on our health. The panel discussion will analyze the recreational, economic, and environmental value of B.C. forests. UBC Forestry Dean John Innes will moderate "Healthy Forests, Healthy Lives: Exploring the Link between our Environment" and its four speakers: Northern Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sandra Allison, UNBC associate professor Pamela Wright and UBC forestry professors Cecil Konijnendijk, and Matilda van den Bosch.

They'll be asked to consider if happiness and health linked to living closer to green spaces and what affect forests have on physical and mental health.

Stewart will speak at the Prince George Public Library's downtown branch while the second is at UNBC's lecture hall lecture hall, located next to the Canfor Wintergarden.
