Two Kamloops teens killed in weekend crash north of Prince George

The B.C. Coroners Service is confirming an accident on Highway 97 on June 30 claimed the lives of two teens from Kamloops.

The head-on collision occurred between a northbound passenger vehicle carrying three people and a southbound transport truck, according to RCMP, around 5 p.m. Of the three in the passenger vehicle, one male teen and one female teen died at the scene. The third person was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Andy Watson with the coroners service says for the families' privacy, the names and exact ages of the two teens are not being released.

"Our investigation is in the very early stages," he says. "That investigation will take some time."

The driver of the truck was not injured.
