Two flights between Prince George and Vancouver added to COVID-19 exposures list

Two more WestJet flights have been flagged

A pair of flights between Prince George and Vancouver have been alerted for COVID-19 exposure today (Dec. 27).

The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) says passengers on WestJet flight 3290 from Prince George to Vancouver on Dec. 16 may have come into contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

Those sitting in rows 16-19 may have been affected.

WestJet flight 3287 from Vancouver to Prince George on Dec. 18 has also been added to the exposure list.

Those sitting in rows 15-19 may have been affected.

These are the 23rd and 24th flights marked for COVID-19 exposure involving Prince George since the pandemic reached the region in March.

Since March 27, passengers seated near a case of COVID-19 that was recognized after arrival are no longer being directly notified of their potential exposure, but are asked to check online and monitor their symptoms.

In the last COVID-19 update provided by the province on Dec. 24, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 582 tests came back positive for a grand total of 48,609 since the pandemic hit in January.

Northern Health recorded its highest single-day case count with 68 infections since Wednesday (Dec. 23) for a regional total of 1,719 since March. The province will provide another COVID-19 update on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
