Provincial Crown counsel has approved five charges against a Prince George man after RCMP recovered 14 stolen rifles from a Bunce Road home on Friday.
Patrick Ryan Baker, 28, was arrested at the home one day after RCMP were called to a report of a break and enter at an Upper Fraser Road home.
More than a dozen guns, along with a quantity of cash, binoculars, alcohol, clothing and a GPS system went missing from the home, RCMP said.
The next day, police executed a search warrant on the Bunce Road home where they seized the rifles. A Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum handgun has not yet been located, RCMP added in a press release issued Monday.
As of Monday, Baker remained in custody on one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, break and enter to commit an indictable offence, driving while prohibited and failing to comply with an undertaking.
He also continues to face a charge of assault from a separate matter that's scheduled to go to trial in June.
A 26-year-old female, whose name was not released, was also arrested and later released on a promise to appear in court on March 16. Police are recommending property and firearms related charges against her.
