Two men well known to police were arrested and guns and drugs seized last week.
The P.G. RCMP's Crime Reduction Team executed a criminal code search warrant at a residence located on Northwood Pulpmill Road.
Police seized a loaded 40 calibre hadngun and three shotguns, which were stolen property.
A significant amount of heroin, crack cocaine and methamphetamine was also located.
Further investigation saw the seizureof 13 firearms.
Damian Andrew Dwyer, 34, was arrested and has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Firearm without a licence (4 counts)
Knowingly Possess a Firearm without a Licence (4 counts)
Possession of a Restricted Firearm without Authorization
Possession of a Firearm that was Obtained by the Commission of an Offence (3 counts)
Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (2 counts)
Fail to Comply with a Probation Order
Dwyer is in custody at least until his next court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
Prince George RCMP's Crime Reduction Team also executed a controlled drugs & substances act and criminal code search warrant on Saturday, May 9, at a motel located on the 1500 block of Victoria Street in Prince George.
A significant amount of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marihuana was located.
A 47-year-old Prince George man was arrested and is facing controlled drugs and substances act charges as a result of this investigation.
The Prince George RCMP are confident that the seizure of these guns and drugs prevented violence and harm in our community, said Cpl. Craig Douglass, communications NCO/media liaison officer in a news release.
These search warrants were supported by information provided to the police by concerned citizens who are also committed to ridding their community of these problems. It is through these types of collaborative partnerships that public safety is effectively increased and the harm from drug activity is reduced, said Douglass.
