There's one man in town who is addicted to horror and wants to scare people for Halloween.

Derek Lovell has created a Haunted Maze that showcases Saw, Scream and Texas Chainsaw Massacre-like features that he promised will put fear into many hearts.

The Haunted Maze is located at 1679 15th Avenue and runs this Thursday and Friday, as well as next Tuesday and Wednesday, from 6 to 9 p.m., beside ReMax across from Parkwood Mall. Lovell took last year's residential display from Elk Road to a bigger and better commercial location with nine themed rooms this year.

"This is aimed to scare adults," said Lovell. "Ideally this is for people 15 to 30 but we've had four year olds that have come through and loved it and we've had adults that didn't make it through. So it is for all ages but it's intended to scare older people."

It took about 10 people to pull the maze together, he added.

"Because I have always been addicted to horror, I have done a haunted house for the last five years but it's always been on a much smaller scale," said Lovell. "It takes people about three minutes to go through the maze but there have been people that run through in a minute. Some people like to walk through it and enjoy all the details and that takes about five minutes. "

There's someone lurking round every corner, Lovell warned.

Entry is $5 each or $15 per family.
